All drivers will need a clean driving record

Flexible start times and schedules. They can start as early as 6 or as late as 9.They can even choose to work 4 days instead of 5 if they prefer.They will work with just about any schedule.

Position Description

About the role:

The CDL B Driver is responsible for timely and accurate deliveries of product to customers with a high level of service.

We are looking for people who can:

Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and maintain a safe driving record, whether on or off duty.

Complete pre-and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure the vehicle is in good operating order and submit inspection sheets for review and filing.

Communicate any current or potential truck or equipment concerns to the Logistics Manager.

Ensure the load is secure to prevent shifting or damage to product before disembarking.

Check all fluid levels on the vehicle and complete maintenance activities, such as replenishment of washer fluid or adding fuel additives as appropriate.

Utilize bar code technology and RF scanning to track inventory activities and movement.

Operate Powered Industrial Trucks such as motorized pallet jacks, sit-down, stand-up, and reach fork trucks and order pickers to unload, retrieve, move, load, or count items relative to the functional area of responsibility.

Communicate with leads and supervisors to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.

Meet safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.

Strives to deliver on "The Perfect Order."

Utilizes a cube truck up to 20' box or straight truck up to 28' box with air brakes to complete all assigned customer deliveries each day in accordance with defined delivery instructions, communicating any hurdles as encountered. Verifies delivery counts against the paperwork at the time of delivery.

Employs proper lifting techniques and operates appropriate equipment (i.e., hand carts, manual and/or electric pallet jacks, liftgate) to reduce the risk of injury while delivering product.

Communicates effectively and appropriately with customers and colleagues.

Demonstrates basic technology skills. Properly utilizes tools and software required by company.

If requested by the customer, place items into the appropriate storage area(s), ensuring proper rotation of customer stock as required.

Gathers required proof of delivery using company-provided mobile phone (capture photo of delivered items or have customer sign for items.)

Sometimes picks up products or equipment from customers or vendors while on route.

Occasionally collects payment for items upon delivery.

Completes multiple routes per day as needed.

Cleans out the truck at the end of the shift, including placing undelivered, returned, or vendor pick up product or equipment in proper staging area. Removes any personal items daily.

Attends and participates in weekly driver meetings.

With the following qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

A valid Class B CDL with an excellent driving record is required with at least one year experience.

Must have and maintain a Fed Med card.

Haz Mat Certification is preferable.

Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.

Perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Desire to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.

Must meet physical capability to perform the work required.

Ability to pass pre-employment and subsequent random drug screens.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds either by hand or using a dolly. Must also regularly climb stairs to enter and exit the delivery truck or at customer locations. Will regularly be required to crouch, bend, or twist and use hands and fingers to operate truck controls and to record orders using a mobile application. Requires close and distance vision for the safe operation of the delivery vehicle and for operating the mobile application.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment may vary widely due to changes in outside temperature and weather. May be exposed to rain, snow, sleet, and/or wind, and slippery surfaces. When indoors at our facility or customer facilities, may be exposed to various odors related to business operations. May be regularly exposed to fragrances and odors that come from cleaning chemicals, air fresheners, equipment and other products that are part of the delivery or present at delivery locations. Noise level is moderate.
