CONTINGENT UPON AWARDING OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACT The Background Investigator will support the AOC personnel security program by conducting federal background investigations and preparing reports of investigation in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, laws, and agency regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities: - The Background Investigator shall conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, laws, and other federal agency regulations.
- In accordance with agency guidelines, the Background Investigator will conduct in-person and/or phone, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain information about the individual's background and character.
- The Background Investigator shall obtain information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation that contains all pertinent facts of an individual's background and character.
- Travel may be required to conduct interviews or obtain records.
- The Background Investigator will complete all background investigations and reports of investigation within specified timelines.
- Properly safeguarding sensitive information to include, but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.
- Must be willing to travel in and around the assigned location within 30-50 miles as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel in and around the assigned location within 30-50 miles as needed
Minimum/General Experience: - The Background Investigator must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract.
- Minimum of five (5), preferably seven (7), years of investigation experience.
