Your Mission

The Springs Resort & Spa is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of repair, maintenance, and specialized tasks to ensure the smooth operation and safety of our hotel's facilities and mineral pool systems. In this role, you will address routine and emergency maintenance issues, perform preventative maintenance on equipment, and support the overall functionality of the hotel's physical infrastructure, including the upkeep of our renowned hot spring pools. This position is ideal for someone who is technically skilled, proactive, and passionate about maintaining the high standards of a luxury resort environment.

Where You Can Make an Impact:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool systems throughout the hotel and resort.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the mineral pools, monitoring water quality, temperature, filtration systems, and chemical levels to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pool-related mechanical and technical problems, including pumps, heaters, and filtration systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest room repair requests, addressing issues such as plumbing, electrical, or heating/cooling malfunctions.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and systems, ensuring all are in proper working condition to prevent future issues.
  • Assist with cleaning, skimming, and maintaining pool areas, ensuring they are safe and inviting for guests.
  • Maintain detailed records of pool maintenance activities, including chemical adjustments, repairs, and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to building infrastructure, including minor carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and department heads to prioritize and complete projects that support hotel operations, including those related to pool facilities.
  • Ensure that all tools, supplies, and equipment are properly maintained and readily available for use.
  • Support other departments during peak times by providing maintenance services in areas such as fitness centers or recreational spaces.

Requirements:

What Sets You Apart:

Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, or general maintenance is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
  • Specific experience in pool maintenance, including familiarity with chemical balancing, pump systems, and filtration equipment.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool systems.
  • Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills.
  • Knowledge of water quality management and pool maintenance standards, including chemical testing and adjustments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to resolving maintenance issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with hotel staff and guests.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures, including the safe use of tools, equipment, and handling of pool chemicals.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel to The Springs Resort & Spa.
