Job Description

Cunningham Door & Window, Louisville's leading door company, is growing and we have an immediate opening for someone in our Window/Entry Door department.

We are the market leader for residential garage doors, overhead doors, and operators in metro Louisville. Candidates will interact with our customers and should enjoy working with people. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a mechanical inclination and exceptional customer service skills.

Summary

In the role of Technician/Installer, you will assume a pivotal responsibility in the installation of windows, entry doors, and related systems. Prior experience is not a prerequisite, as we provide thorough on-the-job training to all new team members.

Duties

  • Installing door and associated system components paying special attention to detail for a superior, high-quality install. Attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship a must!
  • Checking adjustment on all operators.
  • Checking for proper door installation and clearances.
  • Checking for appropriate UL 325 operator reversing operation and properly documenting any deficiencies.
  • Checking all set screws, rollers, cables and balance, horizontal and vertical track settings.
  • Checking balance on doors with the operator disconnected.
  • Explaining how door and operator works if a customer is present.
  • Responding to customer questions in a truthful and pleasant manner.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have experience using smartphones, tablets, and computers.
  • Must be able to use an aluminum brake.
  • Must be able to read construction drawings and interpret project specifications.
  • Must be capable of learning our trade and, more importantly, must be able to articulate what our products can do for our customers.
  • Successful candidates must be mechanically and electrically inclined. Cunningham will provide industry-specific training.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Clean background screening
  • Candidates must be able to pass drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous construction and/or door installation experience.
