Primary Responsibilities :
- Assist in the client intake process and ensure all consents and releases are signed
- Ensures incoming clients have a complete psychosocial history and comprehensive assessment and interpretative summary within 5 days of admission.
- Completes, with team participation, a Preliminary Treatment Plan within 3 days of admission.
- Prepares, with team and client participation, a Comprehensive Treatment Plan for all patients within 30 days of admission.
- Maintains a caseload as assigned and in accordance with COMAR and CARF regulations.
- Provide individuals and group counseling for dually diagnosed individuals.
- Makes a minimum weekly contact with each consumer and document their progress (Per consumers needs).
- Provide Hybrid services per current state regulations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Diagnosing and treatment planning for patients
- Provide timely client data to allow timely authorizations and concurrent authorizations
- Obtain court orders and referring resource information (if applicable)
- Provides multidimensional assessment and clinical evaluation, including diagnostic impression and interpret the results in interpretive summary
- Ability to determine level of care placement using ASAM criteria
- Familiarity with all levels of care (DUI, .05,1.0, 2.1) levels of care
- Completes, with patient participation, a Preliminary Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the RMBHS Policies and Procedure Manual.
- Develop treatment plans (Initial and Reviews) to include problem areas, goals, interventions, desired outcomes, and treatment strategies, as well as making referrals for ancillary services
- Completes and maintains accurate records or reports regarding clients' history and progress, services provided, or other required information.
- Complete clinical paperwork (intakes, treatment plans, progress notes, transition and discharge summaries) per agency policies and state regulations (COMAR)
- Administer periodic drug and alcohol tests
- Provide ethical and culturally sensitive weekly individual psychotherapy services
- Lead group therapy sessions that build recovery skills and foster community by utilizing our outlined curriculum.
- Advocate for patient needs
- Prepares an aftercare transition plan for all patients per RMBHS policy to all for review prior to discharge
- Complete discharge summaries in a timely fashion.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Maryland and/or LCPC, LCSW-C (Preferred);
- Bachelor Degree (Preferred)
- Minimum Associate degree
- AND
- Any of the following current certifications in good standing with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists:
- CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMFT
- Strong knowledge and skills to access, diagnose and treat medical and substance abuse issues, and have knowledge and experience with the special needs and behavior of individuals in therapeutic settings undergoing withdrawal from substances
- Familiarity with State Regulations (COMAR), DEA regulations, and CARF standards.
- Excellent documentation and computer skills
- Strong knowledge of Electronic Health Records
- Subject matter expertise of local community drug trends, the effects of the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs, and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social science, economic, legal and medical systems, HIV transmission, behavioral and emotional implications of addiction.
