Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients struggling with substance use and abuse disorders
• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on client needs
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and behavior management, client centered
• Psychoeducation to clients on harm reduction as well as abstinence models of treatment
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and clinical counselors, and psychiatric staff to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies to overcome substance use and addiction
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Collect and maintain accurate records of client information and treatment progress
• Provide education and support to clients' families regarding addiction and recovery
• Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in addiction counseling
• Continue education requirements needed for renewals of licensure

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, counseling)-  Required or,
• CASAC will be accepted with experience
• Active licensure-  Required
• Experience in providing addiction counseling services
• Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques for substance abuse treatment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Spanish speaking a+
• Electronic medical records (EMR) experience
• Recovery A+- we highly value clinicians in recovery

Experience in the following is preferred :

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Person Centered Care
• Motivational Interviewing (MI)
• Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET)
• Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
• Trauma Informed Therapy
• Harm Reduction

Job location will be determined at time of hire based on organizational need. The position can be at either one of our locations: Brooklyn Heights, NY or Union Square (Manhattan), NY.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Addiction counseling: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Experience with behavioral health/ SU clients (Preferred)
• LMSW, or LCSW, or LMHC, or LMHC, or MHC-LP or CASAC (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• New York, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)
