Job Description

Founded in 1940, Degenkolb Engineers has more than eight decades of commitment to innovation, client service, and life-long learning. We deliver customized structural solutions in a variety of practice areas: healthcare, education, science and technology, forensics, construction engineering and federal buildings. We address every project need whether those needs are meeting stringent codes, meeting a bottom line, sticking to a hard construction schedule, or developing a structural system that creates a landmark.

If you are interested in joining our team and do not see your desired position on our "Job Openings" page, please send an email with a targeted cover letter expressing interest to: humanresources@degenkolb.com

We have an immediate opportunity for a licensed Design Professional with experience in modification and renovation of single-family, multi-family, and light commercial structures within local California jurisdictions. The desired candidate is experienced at working with Contractors and Owners to quickly understand existing conditions and develop jurisdictional-compliant Construction Documents. The ideal candidate will be experienced with fast-paced development of complete CD packages across multiple disciplines, from structural to architectural to basic MEP information using established company standards and templates. Projects range from minor to moderate extent with occasional partial or complete rebuilds. The focus of the position will be insurance-funded repair and reconstruction within the Forensics Practice Area, though the position does not require prior experience in forensics or insurance work, provided the candidate demonstrates a strong ability to adapt to new challenges.

The candidate will integrate with our fully developed Forensics team in Northern California to anchor and represent our growing Southern California team. The candidate will be expected to travel throughout the region, to have scheduling flexibility, and to interface directly with clients and collaborators. The candidate is expected to develop durable client relationships through strong performance, responsiveness, and good business practices.

Our firm is highly collaborative and filled with experts who are united by a passion for industry involvement, pride in company ownership, and respect for our personal lives. You will benefit from focused professional development within a highly supportive and transparent team environment. We also offer a well-defined career path, opportunities for committee participation and leadership, mentor and diversity programs, variety in work assignments, a comprehensive benefits package, and a pay scale set at the 75th market percentile.

The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $10,500 - $16,500 per month . This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including location, company geographic differentials, education level and candidate qualifications.

Benefits include health and life insurance, commuter benefits, paid parental leave, 401(k) with company Profit Sharing contribution, employee ownership in a privately held stock plan, financial support for professional activities, company holidays, and a generous paid time off program.

We offer a flexible hybrid work schedule! To learn more about the company culture and our approach to development, please visit our website using the links below:
