We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Staff Appraiser to join our Texas office and contribute to our mission of excellence.

Job Summary:

The Staff Appraiser at Ternus Lending, LLC will be responsible for accurately assessing the value of residential properties, particularly those intended for fix and flip or rental purposes. This role requires expertise in evaluating repair budgets, determining "as-is" values, and estimating "after-repaired" values (ARV). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and have a strong background in real estate appraisals with a focus on investment properties.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough property appraisals, including on-site inspections when necessary, to determine accurate "as-is" and "after-repaired" values.

- Analyze and verify repair budgets submitted by borrowers, ensuring they are realistic and align with current market conditions.

- Assess rental comparables and market trends to establish accurate rental income estimates.

- Prepare detailed appraisal reports that reflect property conditions, market value, and investment potential.

- Collaborate with the lending and underwriting teams to ensure accurate and timely property valuations.

- Stay updated on local real estate market trends, regulations, and industry best practices.

- Communicate appraisal findings effectively to internal stakeholders, including underwriting and management teams.

- Assist in developing and refining internal appraisal and valuation processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

- State-certified or licensed residential real estate appraiser with active credentials in Texas.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate appraisal, with a focus on investment properties (fix and flip, rental properties, etc.).

- Strong understanding of real estate market trends, repair budgets, and valuation methods for investment properties.

- Proficiency in using appraisal software and tools.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
