Function/Duties of Position

The Huber Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at OHSU, under the leadership of Dr. Rebekah Huber, has an opening for a full-time Senior Clinical Research Assistant. The Huber lab is conducting studies using digital health technologies and neuroimaging to examine sleep disturbance, cognition, and suicide risk in youth with bipolar disorder. These studies utilize actigraphy, ecological momentary assessment, and neuroimaging along with clinical and cognitive assessments, and behavioral questionnaire measures.

The Senior Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for recruitment, screening, scheduling, and data collection for research participants in addition to maintaining contact throughout their study participation. This individual will be heavily involved in data collection which includes conducting clinical assessments, behavioral questionnaires, cognitive assessment, and MRI scanning. In this role, they will assist in overseeing other staff, volunteers, and graduate students involved in these activities. In addition, they will assist with administrative-related tasks, including data entry and export, and other general office duties in support of the goals of the studies.

Other duties include preparing and processing materials needed for each research visit, filing, copying, data processing and other general duties in support of the goals of the study. The individual will also attend weekly laboratory staff meetings with the PI and other staff members. Research aims are subject to change and therefore priority in duties may change over time. This position will require adopting a flexible schedule, with evening and weekend hours for data collection.

Essential qualifications include dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work at a fast-paced, timely manner. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter, possessing a strong work ethic and the ability to operate independently, as well as in a team environment. Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities, working efficiently with minimum oversight, interacting constructively with faculty and staff, and the ability to be adaptable and a quick learner are all necessary.

Previous experience working with youth and their families in a research setting is preferred. Interest in mental health and suicide prevention is desired. Experience with REDCap and Excel strongly preferred. Evening and weekend availability will be required, and we are particularly interested in individuals willing to make a 2-year time commitment to working in the lab.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR

* Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience OR

* 4 years of relevant experience OR

* Equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree with major courses in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, physics, or related technical disciplines and 1-2 years of experience conducting neuroimaging studies.

* Prior human research experience preferred.

* Experience working with youth and families preferred.

* Experience administering clinical and neurocognitive assessments preferred.

* Experience operating an MRI, processing, or analyzing neuroimaging data preferred.

* The position requires sufficient computer knowledge to interface with a variety of database and statistical software, such as Excel, REDCap, SPSS, Ilumivu, and E-Prime.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills are extremely important, as the staff member will be interacting regularly with youth and parent research participants.
