Job Description

A health services network in New York City is actively seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their team on a full-time or part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection for patients, including those facing chronic and complex conditions.

Assignment Length: Up to 3 months
Schedule: Monday to Sunday (3 shifts per week max)
Hours: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 6:30PM-7AM

Responsibilities:

As a Phlebotomist, you will:

  • Perform blood draws and collect specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
  • Accurately label and process specimens according to established protocols.
  • Monitor patients during and after specimen collection to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain and manage accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and protocols for blood collection.
  • Ensure timely submission of specimen information and reports within the required timeframe.
  • Assist with other related duties as needed to support the team and patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Phlebotomy certification program or relevant training.
  • Proven experience as a Phlebotomist with a solid understanding of blood collection techniques.
  • Proficiency in specimen handling and processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and patient-oriented.

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients.
  • Experience performing wound care.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
