Job Description

We are currently seeking a Peer Support Specialist in Missoula, MT, US, who can provide encouragement and direction to individuals, teams, and groups striving for improved health. Possession of certification as a Peer Support Specialist is a requirement, with the opportunity to obtain certification through Winds of Change. Previous experience in addressing significant mental health challenges or dual diagnosis is a fundamental aspect of this role. The ability to effectively utilize personal experiences to empathize and inspire those in need is highly valued. Compensation:

$17.50 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation to clients for their appointments when necessary
  • Facilitate recovery-based group activities
  • Evaluate and assess factors that hinder independent or community living
  • Address communication skills in individuals
  • Implement skills to manage symptoms effectively
  • Help individuals develop social support systems
  • Adapt skills for various life domains such as home, work, education, leisure, and social activities
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention
  • Complete assigned training, both in person and through computer learning programs
  • Document activities and progress on a daily basis
  • Meet productivity standards
  • Cover shifts at group homes as needed, including day, evening, and overnight shifts
  • Schedule and attend meetings as required
  • Maintain regular attendance

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older (State requirement for licensing)
  • Must have current driver's license, transportation, and automobile insurance coverage
  • Follow HIPAA and maintain confidentiality!
  • Must have your Peer Support certification
