Position: Therapist

Department: Outpatient Mental Health Clinic

Supervisor: OMHC Practice Manager

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (contingent upon experience)

General Summary:

Join our team as a Therapist I, providing therapeutic intervention and advanced counseling services to clients and their families. Under general supervision, you will enhance comprehensive, integrated, and uninterrupted treatment, ensuring continuity of care. This role is essential in assisting individuals on their journey to recovery from mental illness, physical illness, and substance abuse, guided by the Person-Centered Treatment Planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess clients’ psychosocial situations to plan appropriate interventions and treatment goals.

• Conduct interviews with clients, family members, and significant others to evaluate the need for counseling services.

• Review client charts, psychiatric diagnostic exams, and other pertinent documentation.

• Provide individual and/or family counseling using various clinical methods, ensuring a minimum of 900 direct care hours annually.

• Act as the client’s OMHC treatment coordinator, collaborating with the treatment team.

• Interpret psycho-social services programs and procedures for clients, staff, and community organizations.

• Offer preventive or supportive services to clients in or threatened by detrimental situations.

• Coordinate and maintain discharge planning for community-based services.

• Document psycho-social assessments, individual contacts, family interventions, and discharge planning accurately and in accordance with policies and standards.

• Maintain confidentiality per agency policies and professional standards.

• Participate in cross-coverage and on-call coverage as needed.

• Engage in departmental meetings, activities, and committee participation.

• Evaluate program objectives and results, contributing to program planning and improvement.

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, reflecting principles of growth and development across the lifespan.

• Commit to professional development through relevant educational programs and self-improvement initiatives.

• Participate in training and education of allied health professionals and supervise counseling staff as required.

• Monitor after-hours cell phone coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in professional counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Professional Counselor licensure and credentials (LGPC, LCPC, LCSW-C or LCSW) or evidence of application for licensure examination at the time of employment.

• Willingness to work weekends, shifts, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

• Proficient in standard office environments and able to adhere to agency policies and procedures.

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse cultures respectfully.

Work Expectations:

• Adhere to agency policies and procedures, including ethical standards, fraud prevention, and health and safety guidelines.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, handling numerous interruptions.

• Maintain proficient computer skills and use professional language in communications.

• Contribute positively to the work team and practice recovery model interventions daily.
