Job Summary: Are you a skilled medical biller with experience in Oral Surgery, Orofacial Pain, Dental Sleep, and Medicare billing? We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Independent Contractor. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to manage the full billing cycle using your own computer, meeting specific IT requirements. With at least 2 years of medical insurance billing experience, you'll be responsible for claim submission, payment posting, contractual adjustments, and appeals.

As an independent medical biller, you'll play a crucial role in supporting clients by ensuring accurate billing and effective follow-up on outstanding claims. If you're organized, proactive, and excellent at managing your time, this position offers the flexibility and autonomy you're looking for.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in medical billing, with a focus on dental billing and medical knowledge.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a reliable system in place for tracking claims.
Ability to review denials, verify the accuracy of explanations of benefits (EOBs), and resolve any discrepancies.
Proficiency with medical billing software, specifically Health Fusion or Advanced MD.
Responsibilities:

Review and submit clean claims with appropriate modifiers to insurance companies electronically or via 1500 forms.
Verify insurance payments for accuracy and ensure compliance with provider contracts and patient benefits.
Perform collection activities, including liaising between clients and insurance companies through phone calls and online platforms.
Utilize A/R reporting to review and appeal unpaid or denied claims.
Carefully review all denials, confirm EOB accuracy, and resolve any issues.
Expectations and Commitment:

As an Independent Contractor, you'll need to use your own computer that meets specific IT requirements.
Maintain a dedicated workspace with reliable computer equipment, printer, and high-speed internet.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of EOBs, accurately posting payments and adjustments.
Work independently, set effective goals, and stay disciplined and detail-oriented.
Efficiently review account ledgers, payments, and EOBs to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
