Chatham's Capital Advisory team is recruiting for an Investment Banking Associate to join the Capital Advisory team. The team offers strategic finance advisory and transaction execution services across a comprehensive range of debt, securitization, derivative, and equity capital to companies spanning real estate, private equity, corporations, and financial services. The team is comprised of experts in the capital markets, providing transparency into the financial markets to support client goals in raising capital, solving challenges, and securing confidence to achieve the best possible results.

The ideal Associate candidate will be intellectually curious with a willingness to work hard, learn quickly, and is process-oriented with strong attention to detail. A successful candidate will enjoy a collaborative environment, have excellent communication skills, and be interested in diverse and challenging work.

In this role you will:
  • Create dynamic financial models and perform scenario analysis
  • Conduct primary due diligence and industry research on potential transactions
  • Review documents (loan documentation, leases, appraisals, etc.)
  • Develop transaction memos to present to internal committees
  • Assist in the creation of presentation and marketing materials for clients, prospects, and partners
  • Supervise analysts and acting as an intermediary between junior and senior bankers

Contributors to your success:

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of investment banking experience (Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets) or debt capital markets experience from a leading firm and:
  • Exceptional financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills
  • Experience working with credit documents, leading the due diligence process, credit analysis, capital structure review and assessing financing alternatives
  • Self-starter and team player with strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to construct concise, persuasive verbal and written transaction memorandums
  • A desire to develop and expand relationships within the investment community
  • Completed undergraduate or graduate studies in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar subject
  • Willingness to obtain, or have obtained, a Series 7 FINRA registration
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for client meetings and interoffice travel

For New York based candidates, the compensation range for the position is expected to be between $90,000 - $150,000 annually. Total compensation, including base pay, discretionary individual bonus and company bonus, may be higher than range listed, depending on applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
