International Recruiter Salary: $67,725 - $73,752 Classification: Administrative Exempt Reports to: Dean of Student Success and Engagement
The Office of International Education and Study Abroad (OIESA) is responsible for increasing the visibility of the College locally, nationally, and internationally to generate leads, accurately representing the College to help students make an informed decision about school selection and providing timely support to convert applicants to enrollees at the College. The recruiter assists with advising in designing and delivering effective pre-arrival support to accepted students. The International Recruiter (IR) reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Student Development and Engagement and processes inquiries and applications on a daily basis, as well as does educcational agent management. The IR provides a wide range of support to the Associate Vice President of Student Development and Engagement to develop, deliver, and evaluate the strategic annual marketing and recruitment plan to increase and diversify new first-time international student enrollment in degree and non-degree programs in designated areas. The IR manages and tracks daily communication with prospective students through telephone, emails, online meetings, and in-person, and accurately advises on admission requirements, deadlines, costs, degree options, and general F-1 visa rules. This position assists the Office of International Education and Study Abroad with routinely updating the website and social media contents, creating short videos, working with the Office of Communications to design those, as well as purchase promotional materials, managing mass email campaigns/promotions, collecting testimonials from a variety of sources, and composing the quarterly newsletter. This position travels domestically and internationally to recruit students approximately two to three times a year.
The Office of International Education and Study Abroad provides primary support for students on an F (and occasionaly J) visa who plan to enroll in College-Credit, High School Completion (HSC), Intensive English and short-term customized programs and Study Abroad opportunities outside the US. OIESA services include international recruitment, admissions, accident and sickness medical benefit matters, student engagement, and housing referrals. In addition, OIESA works with on and off-campus partners to develop and deliver international student programs that support student success, retention, and program completion. Essential Functions
Plan, promote and facilitate virtual recruitment events as well as participate in virtual recruitment events organized by partners.
Cultivate relationships with existing partners and identify new potential partners through U.S.-focused recruitment channels such as EducationUSA advisors, school counselors, faculty members, agents, and government organizations.
Meet annual international student enrollment targets through recruitment and retention of students.
Develop and produce outreach materials (application materials, web materials, admissions brochures, posters, outreach displays, general program brochures for admission purposes, banners, videos and other pertinent prospective student materials) for international programs. As well as select appropriate giveaways.
Liaise with assisting agencies such as the US Department of Commerce, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Association of Washington International Student Affairs (AWISA), WCCCSA (Study Abroad) etc.
Process international student online and paper applications, issue 1-20's and prepare monthly inquiry reports of potential students; conduct follow-ups for all electronic and paper-based inquiries and applications, as well as provide courteous and timely customer service to prospective students at all stages in the admissions process (i.e., inquiry to enrollment).
Monitor the effectiveness of international recruitment and the development of a short- and long-range plan, as well as maintain the Salesforce database for tracking prospective students.
Establish strategic agreements and partnerships with international high school and university officials, government agencies, educational organizations, and professionals who serve international students.
Lead efforts to leverage the diversity, knowledge, and relationships of the college's existing international student, faculty, staff, and alumni population in the development of a broader network to support international recruitment.
Oversee the communication with the business office and outside vendors to pay OC's education agents and make sure payments are up to date each quarter.
Routinely manage and update relevant content of OIESA's social media such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
Act as an advocate for international student concerns.
Analyze data to achieve international student enrollment goals. Keeping the AVP informed of overall recruitment progress and concerns from partners on a regular basis.
Conceptualize, craft scripts, select models, shoot, edit and upload short videos and routinely add new videos following the College's guidelines.
Design, interview, write articles and provide visual imagery for the quarterly newsletter, as well as for multiple advertising venues.
Identify needs and develop training resources for partners to accurately represent the College to prospective students and set up on-demand online training sessions.
Train Ambassadors and volunteers to connect with prospective and new students.Help prospective students through telephone, email, online meetings, and in-person.
Plan and facilitate routine information sessions and develop recorded sessions for the website.
Maintain an accurate agency and student database through Salesforce.
Stay abreast of OC's programs and services, current events, immigration updates, and local, national, and international trends that affect international student enrollment.
Maintain, develop and advertise OC's Study Abroad program throuw WCCCSA.
Perform other duties as assigned.
