Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hospital Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our client’s team in Evergreen Park, IL. This role is essential to ensuring accurate medication dispensing and effective use of technology in a hospital setting.

Hospital Certified Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities:
  • Dispense and deliver medications accurately and timely, demonstrating competence with department automated dispensing and storage devices. Troubleshoot dispensing issues as needed
  • Prepare non-sterile and sterile products accurately, in a timely manner and in compliance with USP standards
  • Enter medication orders accurately into the computer system and/or navigate the electronic medical record effectively to facilitate patient care
  • Utilize automation and technology to maintain equipment in optimal working condition, perform job functions efficiently and serve as a resource for other pharmacy associates and nursing staff
  • Address concerns from customers and team members promptly and accurately. Handle phone calls from nurses, physicians or patients by understanding and resolving issues or escalating to the appropriate team member
  • Assist in training and sharing knowledge with pharmacy team members, residents and students, ensuring adherence to policy, procedures and general standards of pharmacy practice
  • Actively support and participate in departmental initiatives, including performance improvement activities, department committees and shared governance activities
Hospital Certified Pharmacy Technician Requirements:
  • 1+ year of Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital setting
  • Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification (CPhT) issued by PTCB or ExCPT
