Description

As a firmware engineer in the Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, we will be responsible for the design, development, and bringup of innovative wireless silicon for application in Apple’s products!

Minimum Qualifications

  • We are looking for a technical background in one or more of the following:
  • Strong embedded SW fundamentals, including knowledge of design and development flows, real-time constraints, concurrency, and multi-processor systems, caching and virtual memory.
  • Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, bare-metal software development, clock and power management.
  • Develop highly efficient designs delivering outstanding performance, minimizing power and memory footprints while meeting hard-realtime latency requirements.
  • Debug realtime systems with limited visibility, working hands-on with development boards and lab equipment.
  • Support pre-silicon validation efforts, including simulation, emulation, and FPGA prototyping.
  • Develop SoC test and calibration capabilities for chip, module, and product factories.
  • Support post-silicon bringup, validation, performance characterization, system integration and debug.
  • BS + 10 years of experience.

  • PHY firmware architecture and design, including calibrations, realtime processing flows, collaborate with RF hardware, microcode, and MAC layer.
  • Collaborate with Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams to architect, define and implement innovative algorithms, calibrations, and protocols.
  • Support pre-silicon validation efforts, including simulation, emulation, and FPGA prototyping.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
