Job Description

Private Bay Area family seeks an energetic, warm, and experienced full-time Senior-Level/Executive Housekeeper to join their positive domestic staff. The schedule consists of 5-day work week, Monday to Friday, roughly an eight-hour day. While the family is in residence, the candidate must have flexibility to work longer hours as needed. Responsibilities will include overseeing and helping to execute deep/detailed and seasonal cleaning, thorough organizing, laundry/ironing, wardrobe maintenance, running errands, and floral arranging. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, hospitality-driven, go-getter with excellent time management skills. They should also have a keen eye for details and be service-oriented, willing to go above and beyond to support the principals and residence. Working with integrity and discretion are strong requirements of this position as well as a team-player mentality. This role will report to the resident Estate Manager and senior staff.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and help execute housekeeping including deep cleaning, organizing, cleaning inventories, and upkeep of the residence as well as seasonal and scheduled tasks to the highest standards
  • Help maintain cleanliness of both interior and exterior areas including upkeep of indoor and outdoor furniture and guest quarters
  • Thorough cleaning included but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and rugs, cleaning all surfaces, and removing spider webs
  • Detailed care for fine furnishings, art, accessories, fine China, crystal, and silver as requested/directed with appropriate cleaning products
  • Maintain and inventory personal and household supplies such as toiletries, pantry and refrigerator items as directed
  • Assist in managing laundering including hand washing, dry cleaning management, minor repairs, and ironing
  • Monitor fridge and pantry items, organize food and dispose of expired products
  • Replenish personal care items as needed
  • Organize closets, wardrobe, storage, etc. as needed
  • Run errands, personal shopping, and gifting
  • Assist with guests’ arrival, guests’ care, and guests’ departures as needed
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed
  • Maintain household inventories and communicate the need for items’ replacement
  • Additional Housekeeper responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the Estate Manager, senior staff, and principals

Requirements:

  • Strong command of English language; outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience working in a private home with longevity in past position(s)
  • Ability to successfully complete daily tasks independently and work well in a small team
  • Thorough knowledge of deep household cleaning, laundry, ironing, organization, fine arts, and antiques
  • Poised and professional in both mindset and manner
  • Energetic and positive attitude; outgoing and hands-on where no task is too big or too small
  • Excellent organization skills and dedication to responsibilities
  • Pro-active self-starter who is adaptable within the role, punctual, reliable, and courteous
  • Works with the utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Effective problem solver with experience managing and/or training other housekeepers
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required load (approximately 30 lbs.)
  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted and willing to follow strict COVID-protection protocol
  • Valid Driver’s License is required, confident driver with a clean driving record
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional days and hours if needed
  • Legally able to work in the United States
