CSEA, one of New York State’s largest public employee unions, is seeking resumes for a Director of Education and Leadership Development. Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant to the President, this position has direct responsibility for the operation of the CSEA Education and Training Department, including the design and implementation of all labor education programs for elected leadership, activists and rank and file membership.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to designing and administering all labor education programs offered by the Union at regional and statewide levels; coordinating the design and delivery of regional and statewide conferences and educational initiatives; directing the Labor Education Specialists staff; and direct the design and production of instructional and information materials including print, video and audio.
Starting salary is $105,880, commensurate with experience, and includes excellent benefits including health, vision, dental coverage; generous paid time off; defined pension..
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in labor or industrial relations, public administration, education or business administration or a related field AND four years experience in the field of labor or industrial relations, public or personnel administration or directing/teaching at a university or college labor studies program; two years of which must have been in a higher level administrative capacity involving planning, organizing, or directing a comprehensive education/training program covering one or more occupational fields. OR An acceptable combination of experience, education and training as determined by CSEA. The candidate must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have a car available for business use.
