Job Description: Job Summary: Cyber Security Analyst will assist administrators with their patching and vulnerability remediation tasks. This role also involves supporting device inventory and reporting. Daily tasks include responding to tickets from administrators who need help with patch and asset management toolsets. The analyst will also be responsible for testing and operational maintenance of the patch management toolset, including creating customer-facing documentation in the form of step-by-step job aids. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration, customer service, and documentation, and will be able to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes to operational maintenance and support of the Patch and Asset Management service.
- Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology.
Education:
- BA/BS or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- Any relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be a plus.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related system administration, patch management, or asset management experience,
- 2yrs Qualys experience (Patch Management)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills:
- Customer Service:
- Explain complex processes to end users in an understandable manner.
- Use remote sessions to walk end users through processes and resolve issues.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tickets in alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Documentation:
- Create clear and precise step-by-step documentation for various processes and procedures.
- Patch Deployment Process:
- Understand and manage the patch deployment process, including piloting, production deployment, and patch rollback for both OS and third-party applications.
- Software Deployment:
- Proficient in software deployment, including version control and ensuring smooth updates and installations.
- Script Deployment:
- Execute script deployment on remote endpoints, with a clear understanding of the differences between 64-bit and 32-bit architectures. Understand the use of elevated privileges when necessary.
- Host Discovery and Management:
- Conduct host discovery and manage networked devices efficiently.
- Asset/Software Inventory:
- Maintain and manage an accurate inventory of assets and software.
- Reporting:
- Generate and analyze reports to provide insights and ensure compliance with organizational standards
- Nice to Haves:
- Understanding of Boolean logic, specifically AND and OR conditions, for the logical grouping of assets.
- Experience with SQL for creating reports.
- Experience with Splunk or other logging tools.
- Experience with SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
- Experience with KACE, Qualys, or other Patch Management tool.
- PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or Shell scripting knowledge
The likely salary range for this position is $89,250 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
