Mission: Dwyer Workforce Development's (DWD) mission is to provide comprehensive support to individuals who lack opportunity and aspire to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, alleviate a severe healthcare workforce shortage, and improve the lives of seniors.
Position Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator builds and maintains a network of relationships with community organizations and agencies, nonprofits, faith communities, referral and training partners, government entities, funders, government entities and local senior care providers in support of DWD's mission and its' Dwyer Scholars.
Our ideal candidate will have a successful track record in partnership development, partner and project management, event logistics, and communications, plus a genuine passion for helping those who lack opportunity and improving the lives of seniors.
Position Responsibilities
• Create and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, nonprofits, training and referral partners, associations, and senior care providers to create a network of support for Dwyer Scholars.
• Responsible for generating, cultivating and maintaining pipelines of prospective Dwyer Scholars.
• Act as the main point of contact for all local stakeholder relationships on behalf of DWD.
• Serve as a knowledge base for community resources and funding sources with a specific focus on workforce development, health & wellness, childcare, and emergency and essential services.
• Coordinate engagement programs, activities, and meetings for DWD Scholars, partners and/or providers.
• Act as a DWD liaison to the community through a variety of forums, such as in-person meetings, activities, conferences, and resources fairs as well as through virtual communication.
• Set community engagement goals and manage and execute community engagement programs and events in close coordination with DWD corporate team members.
• Identify potential funding sources, support grant development content for local community and maintain assigned funding relationships.
• Track activities and outcomes by maintaining robust records, data, and reporting using multiple systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Valid Driver's License and regular access to a vehicle required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Planning, Communications, or related field and/or a track record of relevant experience.
• Three plus years of experience in a similar role or related work.
• Professional and/or volunteer/or experience in community outreach and engagement, partnership development, community resource development, advocacy, or senior care.
• A high degree of discretion in judgment and ability to determine the most optimal action which will result in the most benefit to DWD and Dwyer Scholars.
• Effective organizational development and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM.
• Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with a diverse population.
• Ability to travel throughout Austin and Houston and, occasionally to other parts of Texas and Baltimore, MD where DWD is located.
