Description:

Austin Telco is looking for exceptional individuals for our Commercial Loan Assistant position with a passion to help build a better future for the communities we serve and for themselves as career-oriented people. Summary: This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to members by assisting with commercial loans to facilitate new loans and loan closings as well as utilizing knowledge of the various accounts and products offered by the credit union.

Compensation:

The salary range is from $43,000.- $55,000

Location: 11149 Research Blvd., Austin, TX, 78759.

Schedule: Applicants for this position must be available to work in person Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to the commercial lending department including receiving and creating new loan files, assisting in loan closing, and booking, preparing loan closing worksheets, and documents.
  • Assists borrowers in filling out loan and/or credit applications and submitting new loan requests completing a loan document checklist.
  • Set up and received new loan application files and ensure that the files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and that a full complete loan package is received per the loan document checklist.
  • Coordinates all aspects of loan closings, including correspondence with attorneys, appraisers, and other outside professionals to ensure that deadlines are maintained.
  • Ordering and collecting necessary reports such as credit reports, flood certificates, environmental reports, title work, appraisals, and appraisal reviews.
  • Prepare commercial loan documents for closing and review all loan documents prior to closing to ensure that they cover the correct collateral, terms, documentation of the loan approval.
  • Facilitate and coordinate with Director of Commercial Lending and title companies with the pre-closing process and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Assembles and verifies accuracy of post-closing loan documentation by checking documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures.
  • Perform post-closing new loan booking set up on computer.
  • Prepares and mails past due letters and collection letters, and loan coupon statements.
  • Provide customer support which includes responding to customer loan questions, issue resolution, mailing payment coupons, payment corrections, and various other customer requests as they arise. Explains and promotes products and services as appropriate based on individual member needs.
  • Supports strong relationship building through on-going member contact, exceptional member service, and superior product knowledge. Answers telephone inquiries and written inquiries concerning loan processing, general loan related questions, and account information.
  • Maintain new and existing loan files in accurate and organized manner.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Handles customer complaints and escalates issues to supervisor as needed.
Requirements:

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related loan experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with members including written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Prior commercial banking/credit union experience preferred.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Episys/Symitar.

Good credit standing is also required and will be verified during the pre-employment stage. Once a contingent job offer is made, a criminal background check and drug screening will be completed.
