Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager - OR/PACU

Location: Modesto, CA

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Summary:

As the Assistant Nurse Manager in the OR/PACU, you will oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the unit, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will manage the activities of the unit, monitor quality, service, and utilization standards, and lead shift activities. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, including staffing, payroll, budgeting, fiscal management, and quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and departmental policies.
  • Develop and implement action plans for staff development; manage a single unit (8 to 24 hours) with approximately 20 60 employees.
  • Monitor personnel allocation based on changing patient needs, focusing on patient care quality and cost savings.
  • Supervise human resources management, safety programs, and risk management within the unit.
  • Ensure coordinated treatment plans, customer-focused care, and cost-effective service utilization.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers across the continuum of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Address and resolve patient and family concerns regarding care.
Secondary Functions:
  • Participate in the PeriOp manager on-call rotation as required.
Basic Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and 2 years of leadership experience (e.g., as a charge nurse, preceptor, or quality improvement champion).
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. High school diploma or GED required.
  • License/Certification:
    • Active Registered Nurse License (California) required upon hire.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • CNOR certification (Certified Nurse Operating Room) is a plus.
