Job Description

As our accounting and billing specialist, you support the accounting team. You will coordinate with various teams and locations to bill and collect revenue appropriately. This position reports to our Director of Accounting.

Functions

  • Enter time and service data across all payer types

  • Bill all federal, state, and private entities weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly as required.

  • Compile, process, and track client authorizations with Medicaid case managers.

  • Support month-end and year-end close

  • Coordinate denials with the proper team members to remedy.

Requirements

  • Strong time management skills, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in typing, data entry, and Excel, including advanced functions like formulas and pivot tables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of best practices for handling PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing complex issues, such as payment discrepancies.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, industry regulations, and financial numeracy.

Education and Experience

  • Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and two years of accounting experience.
